At the age of 24 Victor joined a gym and began lifting weights. His physique transformed so dramatically that he began bodybuilding competitions for wheelchair bound individuals. Ten years later, in 1996, he won the first NPC National Wheelchair Overall Championship. He won the same title in 1997, 1998, 2004 and 2007. Victor was also the first member of the IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Wheelchair Division.
After gaining recognition, Victor began giving motivational speeches to large corporations and appearing on television shows and in commercials. In 2006 a television producer created an entire physical fitness show around Victor named "DMI Beyond Sports." His goal is to reach out to as many individuals as possible and inspire them to take charge of their lives and better themselves both physically and mentally.
