Michael Dobbie began wheelchair tennis at the age of 23 and enjoys competing in both single and doubles. He consistently plays in the Australian Open Wheelchair Championships.
In 2006 he represented Australia at the World Team Cup in Brazil. That same year he won a bronze medal at the FESPIC games in Kuala Lumpur. He competed in the Sydney Wheelchair Tennis Open in 2007 as well as the US Open Wheelchair Championships. In 2008 he competed in the Beijing Paralympic Games.
