John Squires

Hometown: Akron, Ohio

John has been passionate about sports his whole life. He enjoys rugby, hand cycling and skiing. In 1991 John founded Locomotion, Kent State University’s first quad rugby team. With his determination they became part of the USQRA (United States Quad Rugby Association). He graduated from Kent State with a degree in psychology.

He is very active in downhill skiing and is the Vice President of Three Trackers of Ohio, a local adaptive ski program. Along with skiing he participates in marathons, triathlons and duathlons. John has competed in the Akron General Triathlon, Columbus Marathon, Cleveland Marathon, Greater Cleveland Triathlon, Detroit Free Press International Marathon and Dayton United States Air Force Marathon, just to name a few.

Among all of John’s accomplishments he’s also a motivational speaker. He gives speeches to schools as well as to corporations about disability awareness.
