Patrick McDonald began wheelchair curling in 2008, having only two years of curling experience he was invited on to the 2010 U.S. Paralympic wheelchair curling team. Not only does he enjoy curling, but is also an avid golfer, bowler and kayaker. He is considered the #1 wheelchair golfer in the country with a USGA handicap of 1.7 and has the world record for the longest drive of a golf ball from in a wheelchair (358 yards).
Patrick's drive and determination has won him multiple medals ranging from gold, silver and bronze within the last decade. He's constantly learning and competing in new sports. His goal is to win a medal at both winter and summer Games. As an avid hunter growing up coupled with target shooting in the military, Patrick is determined on winning a medal in the 2012 Summer Paralympics in the sport of shooting.
