The Davidson name is legendary in the eventing world and Buck is following quite well in father Bruce's footsteps. Buck finished ninth at the Cosequin/USET 2000 Olympic Games Eventing Mandatory Short List Outing at Foxhall Farm and fifteenth at 2000 Rolex Kentucky CCI****. His second place finish at the Bromont Three-Day CCI**, third at the 1999 Rolex Kentucky CCI***, seventh at the 1999 Fair Hill International CCI***, and seventh at the 1999 Pan American Games create an impressive resume for a young but not untested competitor.

In 1998 he secured sixth place at the Rolex Kentucky CCI*** riding Pajama Game (known affectionately in the Davidson family as "that darn Morgan"), a horse many experts felt could never contest an international event. Davidson and Pajama Game proved them all wrong and created a winning partnership.

On his journey to the 2000 Olympic Games, Davidson won an individual Bronze and a team Silver Medal at the 1997 North American Young Riders' Championships. In 1996, Davidson captured the USCTA Young Rider of the Year award. Additionally, Davidson has received the Markham Trophy three times as the highest placing Young Rider in a USET Championship, making him one of the most decorated young riders of all time.
